Alabamaâs 2023 homecoming parade has a big change Tide fans need to know
You already know you have to set your alarms for an early homecoming parade start on Saturday, but that isn’t the only big change coming to the annual Alabama tradition Crimson Tide fans love.
The parade, which will begin at 7 a.m., has a different route than you’re used to seeing along University Boulevard. Basically, it’s in reverse.
This year (in 2023), the parade will begin on the University of Alabama campus and head towards downtown Tuscaloosa.
The route will see the Million Dollar Band, Alabama cheerleaders, student organizations and other participants exit the Coleman Coliseum parking lot going north on 2nd Avenue, then taking a left onto University Boulevard.
The parade will end at 21st Avenue at Government Plaza downtown.
So yeah, it’s just starting where it has traditionally ended, and vice-versa. Whether or not that affects where you park your lawn chair as it all floats by, that’s your call. Either way, enjoy the show.
